Small Snag

Small Snag

August 23rd, 2008

So I ran into my first small snag in the wedding planning arena this week.  I tried to print my invitations and apparently my printer can not handle them.  They are weird sizes and cardstock so it is haveing a hard time printing them.  I am going to have to find a print shop that can print them for me, so that is my next task.  We will see how it goes!

Paper

August 8th, 2008

The rest of my invitation paper came in the other day.  Im excited to try and make an invitation to see what it looks like.

Paper!

July 24th, 2008

So I got most of my paper for my stationary today, so I am really excited.  I still have to order more from a different site, but this is the majority of it.  There is so much since I am doing so many different things with it, but I found this great website that had it on there.  The name is bluedotpapershop.com and it is a great website.  You can pick any different color or style of paper that you want and you can either order the largest size (8.5 x 11) or ask her to cut it for you, which she only charges a small fee for.  Also, she is based out of Royal Oak, so I did not have to pay for shipping.  And since I am such an inquisitive person, I asked a lot of questions and she was always prompt with her response and informative and friendly.  It was a great experience…and now I get to play!!!

Honeymoon

July 22nd, 2008

So we booked our honeymoon flight today, but it is different then the original plan.  We decided that we are going to be going to Jamaica instead of St. Lucia.  The main reason for this is that we could not get any direct flights to St. Lucia using Rob’s dad’s frequent flyer miles, but we can get them to Jamaica (with a first class seat on the way there).  The resorts seem to be just as nice, and I have heard that the island is beautiful.  One more thing to check off the list!

Update

June 30th, 2008

Things are coming along with planning.  We have pretty much everything together for the ceremony, which is a nice amount of stuff to check off the list.  I also designed our invitations this weekend, so as soon as we get the paper, I will be able to start putting them all together. That felt like a huge accomplishment, so I was very excited.  We also started buying some of the small items for the favors, so its fun to start seeing all of the stuff come in.

The girls and I went shopping a few weeks ago and found great dresses for them.  They all love them, which makes me happy.  The dresses are going to be pink with a brown sash around the waist.  It’s super cute!

Rob & I also picked out our honeymoon location today, which is very exciting.  We will be staying at two different all-inclusive resorts in St. Lucia.  One of them is so neat.  Its named Ladera and it is up on a cliff overlooking the ocean.  All of the rooms have their own pool, and the best part is that all of the rooms have only 2 walls, so the rooms are very open.  The beds have a netting over them so no bugs can get in while you are sleeping.  We are very psyched about it.

Well thats all for now, I will continue updating as things come up.

Good Day

June 1st, 2008

So we had the best day today. Not only did we find out that our offer was accepted for the house that we wanted, I also got a ton of planning done. After hours and hours of indecisiveness, I have finally decided on both favors and centerpieces for the wedding and could not love them more. I also found all of the materials that I will need for my choices and began purchasing some of it. I am finally starting to feel like I am able to plan the wedding of my dreams.

Videography

April 28th, 2008

We started to interview videographers today. This is the first vendor (besides the hall) that we did not choose after the first appointment. We already have a good idea which company we are going to go with, but since we did not get any referrals from anyone, this decision will be a lot harder then all of the other ones. It feels good to almost have all of the vendors chosen so far away from the wedding. I am already getting a little overwhelmed with all of the little details that I know that I need to keep in mind, so its nice to know that all of the big things are complete! (well almost ;))

Monogram

April 12th, 2008

Rob made me a monogram last week and I am so excited about it. It is pretty much the best monogram ever! Im so excited about it…He is the best!

Invitations

April 3rd, 2008

I have been doing a lot of work on choosing my invitations lately. I am being so indecisive about it (I think I’m driving Rob crazy ;)) but I have finally came to a decision about what I am going make, and while in the process I figured out my programs as well. It was a pretty exciting day, let me tell you! Now I just have to order everything, decide on wording that I love for all elements, and begin assembling. Im very excited!

One of the best websites that I found was bluedotpapershop.com. They are based out of Royal Oak, so I am able to pick up my order instead of shipping it, and they will custom cut the paper for you in any sizes that you like. It also seems to be a very small company so when I emailed to ask questions the owner would get back to me next day. It was very wonderful!

Photography & Decorations

March 17th, 2008

Rob and I met with a photography company this weekend, and we were so wowed that we decided to book them yesterday. I’m so excited about it, they offered so many things that none of the other companies could that I feel like there is no way my photos will not be fabulous. This was the one thing that I was the most nervous about because it is so important to me, and I did not get any recommendations from anybody…but I feel much better now.

I also spent a lot of time this weekend looking for the perfect decorations for our hall. I am planning on making a lot of the decorations myself so I figured the earlier I start getting ideas the better off I will be. I think it will be fun to do it all myself, as long as I have enough time to do it :)
